"Material Thinking", as an art movement focused on "material art," aims to explore new pathways in contemporary art through materials, the fundamental elements of life and production, and guide us to reassess traditional perceptions of matter. This in-depth exploration of the essence of art and material philosophy has deepened people's understanding and appreciation of contemporary art.

During the early stages of the exhibition setup, under the meticulous organization and coordination of the Karamay City Government and the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University, not only were the venue layout issues resolved in a professional and efficient manner, but the exhibition requirements were also actively supported. The walls of the exhibition hall were painted black, and a dimly lit environment was created, which greatly enhanced the display effect of the Galaxy installation.

In the middle of the exhibition, in addition to the suspension of light and other devices, the production of interactive devices was also added, using Kinect and Touchdesigner to add some starry sky interactive effects to the work Galaxy. This innovative attempt not only enriches the content of the work, but also enhances the viewing experience of the audience. Through this practice, we added the beauty of the fusion of art and technology to the work, and the infinite possibilities of contemporary art in terms of innovation.

With the successful completion of the exhibition work, the work Galaxy was also officially displayed in Kelamayi Science and Technology Museum. During the exhibition, it received a lot of attention and praise from the audience and peers. Galaxy not only demonstrated the charm and innovation of contemporary art, but also led them to re-examine the traditional perception of materiality through material art, and to think about how materiality shapes our lives and our relationship with ourselves, with others and with the world.

Participating in the “Material Thinking” Karamay International Material Art Season not only gave us the opportunity to communicate with artists from all over the world, but also gave us a deep sense of the respect and support of the city of Karamay for the arts, which allows artists to work together to promote the culture of the border and the flourishing development of cultural undertakings in this land full of dreams and vitality. The program was a great success.
